Tirana é a capital e maior cidade da República da Albânia. Foi fundada em 1614 por Solimão Paxá e tornou-se capital do país em 1920. Tirana é também a capital do distrito de Tirana e da prefeitura de Tirana. O município de Tirana é delimitado a norte pela serra de Kamza, a leste pelo Monte Dajt, a oeste pela serra do Vaqarr e Yzberisht e ao sul pelas colinas de Krrabë e Sauk.
