Samarcanda, também conhecida como Marcanda (Markanda), é a terceira maior cidade do Usbequistão, situada no sudeste do país. É a capital da província homónima e uma das cidades mais antigas continuamente habitadas da Ásia Central. O município tem 89,4 km² de área e em 2020 tinha 513 572 habitantes. A área metropolitana tinha cerca de 950 000 habitantes.
