Caracas é a capital da República Bolivariana da Venezuela e a cidade mais populosa do país. Desde o século XIX, é considerada o centro do poder político e económico da Venezuela. Fica na região centro-norte costeira do país, a cerca de 12 km da costa do mar do Caribe e está localizada dentro de um vale montanhoso.
