Hobart (antes Hobartown) es la capital y ciudad más poblada del estado insular de Tasmania, Australia. Fundada en 1803 como una colonia penal, Hobart es la segunda capital más antigua de Australia tras Sídney. En el año 2008 la ciudad tenía una población de 219.287 habitantes. Se encuentra en la desembocadura del río Derwent, al pie del monte Wellington con una altura de 1270 m s. n. m.
