Praia es la capital y ciudad más poblada de la República de Cabo Verde. Se encuentra ubicado en el municipio del mismo nombre. La ciudad está localizada en la isla de Santiago, y es la capital del municipio de su nombre. Cuenta con una población que supera los 130 000 habitantes. La ciudad contaba en 1990 con 61 644 habitantes.
