Asuán o Aswan es una ciudad al sur de Egipto, capital de la gobernación de Asuán. Es una de las ciudades habitadas más antiguas hasta la actualidad, con una historia que abarca más de 2.600 años. Asuán es centro comercial y turístico ubicado al norte de la presa de Asuán en el margen oriental del Nilo a la altura de la Primera catarata. La ciudad hacía de frontera sur durante el Antiguo Egipto.
