Tánger es una ciudad del norte de Marruecos, ubicada en las proximidades del estrecho de Gibraltar. Bañada por las aguas del océano Atlántico y del mar Mediterráneo, es la capital de la región Tánger-Tetuán-Alhucemas. Durante parte del siglo XX constituyó un protectorado internacional llamado Zona Internacional de Tánger, hasta la incorporación de la ciudad a Marruecos con la independencia del país (1956).
