Kota Kinabalu —más conocida como "KK"—, anteriormente conocida como Jesselton, es la capital de Sabah, ubicada en el este de Malasia. También es la sede del gobierno del estado de Costa Oeste. La ciudad está situada en la costa noroeste de Borneo, frente al mar de la China Meridional. El Monte Kinabalu, cerca de Kota Kinabalu, dio nombre a la ciudad.
