Lagos es una ciudad portuaria ubicada en las costas de Nigeria, en el estado homónimo, del que fue capital hasta 1991, en la costa de la bahía de Benín y en un archipiélago frente al continente. Con una población de 16 536 000 habitantes (proyección 2024) se trata de la ciudad más poblada del país y de África (Kinsasa y El Cairo ocupan el segundo y tercer lugar respectivamente).
