Punta del Este es una ciudad peninsular, situada en el extremo meridional de Uruguay, en el departamento de Maldonado, a 5 km de distancia de la ciudad capital homónima del mismo. Es uno de los balnearios más exclusivos de América Latina y el más importante en Uruguay, el segundo mayor destino turístico del país detrás de Montevideo.
